You can find the old clock in Main Street School tucked in the corner of a Title I classroom.
The room has been divided in half, and years ago it was the front office. Today the clock is frozen in time, after a long life as the hub for the bells and while it signaled the daily lives of thousands of teachers and students. ~Nancy ~ 79/365 Main Street School Shelbyville, Illinois Today I heard "Spring Peepers" on my walk.
They must know spring is near. The robins were everywhere, and the squirrels were busy flitting from one tree to the next. In the meadow I saw a herd of eight deer. This young lady was very, very brave as she walked closer and closer to me. As you can see, someone in the back is a little concerned. I hope she learns some lessons about caution before next fall. ~Nancy ~ 78/365 Every year Sadie works hard to build her trap. This is my warning! If you are a greedy leprechaun, (and everyone knows that they are all greedy), steer wide of the house where Sadie lives. She is crafty, clever, and a master-mind at building the perfect trap. Don't fall for these little signs.
She is very deceptive and you might think that she actually cares about little leprechauns. Little Leprechaun, if you climb to the top of the ladder, you will find a trap-door artfully disguised, and the pot of gold and silver will never be yours, I tell you. Never. ~Nancy ~77/365 On this cold and sleet-filled afternoon, the smidgeon of Irish in me decided to celebrate the day with an Irish twist to the espresso! I hope your day was filled with all good things Irish! An Irish Saint Patrick's Day Toast ~Nancy ~ 76/365
I'm still on Eastern Standard Time,
so this morning I woke early. When I saw the fog, I knew exactly where I needed to go for today's picture... ~Nancy ~ 75/365 When I was young,
my father was stationed at Ft. McPherson near Atlanta, Georgia where we lived for a year. I remember our trips to the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers to buy bread from the Trappist Monks. Today we visited the monastery, and in their visitor center, we found this display of habits worn by the monks as they work in the gardens. ~Nancy ~ 73/365 Georgia is the "Peach State",
and the peach trees were blooming in the sun as we arrived at the Allen Home late in the afternoon... ~Nancy ~ 72/365 If he could talk,
he would tell you that his mommy and daddy are both chefs, and that his tummy is always happy. ~Nancy ~ 71/365 |
