"I prefer winter and Fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape --
the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter.
Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn’t show."

"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant." An early morning drive to the park to find nothing but still...
~Nancy ~ 320/365 "For all your days be prepared, and meet them ever alike. I can't help but wonder what need was met here?
~Nancy ~318/365 "The snow itself is lonely or, if you prefer, self-sufficient. The sun was seriously shining as we stepped outside during a break between sessions.
Then we walked out of the conference to start the trek home... ~Nancy ~ 317/365 "Teamwork divides the task and multiplies the success." We arrived extra early to set up and prepare for our day-long "Google Apps for Education" session.

The sun sets quickly at the end of a very short day... ~Nancy ~ 314/365 Saturday Night Live Transcripts We had a great day! First to watch Tuscola's Eric Ponder and the Shelbyville Boys XC Team run in the State Cross-Country Meet in Peoria. Eric is one of Shannon's former 4th grade students, and she is one of his XC coaches. We were beyond proud of his capturing the Second Place Title as he crossed the finish line. Our next stop was Metamora High School where we watched our grandson, Caleb Brachbill, a senior, play his last game against Peoria Central in the 2014 Illinois Football Playoffs. It was a great game with a final score of 24-20. Even though Metamora did not advance, we watched as Caleb, #19, play with all of his heart. We are beyond proud of him!
We stand, cheer, clap, and ring the cowbell for all student athletes who participate and learn by winning and losing... ~Nancy ~ 308/365 “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” ...and for a few months,
it's over. ~Nancy ~307/365 "There are souls in this world who have the gift of finding joy everywhere Mrs. Stewart's class was first up to bat this year.
The arboretum needed some autumn attention, and we picked a perfect day! These fifth graders worked hard to plant dig holes to plant four trees and we appreciated the enthusiasm, excitement, and joy they showed to be out there... ~Nancy ~ 306/365 |
