“If you spend your whole life waiting for the storm, you'll never enjoy the sunshine.” There was no sun today as we walked this piece of land.
A remnant left over from decades ago brings to mind the tough life the pioneer farmers endured and the steps they took to stay safe... ~Nancy ~ 1.15.2016 “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” The Smith Family is getting a new sun room.
The view will be extraordinary with both the sunrise and the sunset. This morning's temperatures were below freezing, but the sun rose and shone bright in a cloudless sky. Welcome, new day! ~Nancy ~ 1.12.2016 Continuous effort - not strength or intelligence - is the key to unlocking our potential." We wrestled this old trunk down from the attic the day before Halloween.
It belonged to Tom's grandfather, and Tom told me it was time to let it go. We got it as far as the front porch where it has been sitting next to the front door. I needed to meet Shannon for a road trip to a workshop this morning. I saw the pink in my rear view window, and when I looked over my shoulder, I knew I had to take the time to pull over. The things we miss when we sleep past dawn... ~Nancy ~ 1.6.2016 "It is the simple things of life that make living worthwhile, I was so grateful for another day of sunshine.
A morning walk and a late afternoon drive watching the prairie glow with the setting sun. These are my spiritual places... ~Nancy ~ 1.4.2016 "You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water." Even with blue skies and warm temperatures that brought respite from the rain,
Lake Shelbyville crested today. The beaches, trees, picnic tables docks, cabanas, and pavilions are underwater. We had to find new paths and routes for our walk today as the water creeps up to cover our routine trek. Even as I post, the clouds have rolled in and our beautiful blue skies are once again gray. At least we're not shoveling... ~Nancy ~ 1.3.2016 |
