(and I mean every single time),
when Tom says, "I'm going to the country,"
this song plays in my head...
These country road trips keep the cabin fever at bay and reinforces just how beautiful the Midwest is...

Without exception, (and I mean every single time), when Tom says, "I'm going to the country," this song plays in my head... Yet another barn on yet another snowy day.

Driving around in the country with this song in my head, gray skies, and snow on the ground... I don't know what this building is,
but I kinda love it... ~Nancy ~ 57/365 "Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness." And at the end of this day,
there is hope... ~Nancy ~ 56/365 “Our love was somewhere between blue and green. I thought it was turquoise, and she thought it was teal, and that’s ultimately why we broke up. Well, that and she fell for a guy whose last name was Brown, of all colors.” "The snow itself is lonely or, if you prefer, self-sufficient. I'm so in love with this barn.
I couldn't get enough of it. And then the fact that mine were the only footsteps. Nothing but goodness from the time spent here... ~Nancy ~ 54/365 I made a snowman and my brother knocked it down and I knocked my brother down and then we had tea.” It's just not right to have winter without a snowman.
It's official. It's winter... ~Nancy ~ 53/365 "It's do or die. The Grand March(Click on each image to enlarge it...) Adam Hudson: 42-0 vs Nick Hawkins: 36-6Adam Hudson... The first state champion to represent Shelbyville High School! An article from the Decatur Herald-Review Newspaper. Expect tears. I didn't make it through without shedding a few. Congratulations to Adam Hudson, his family, his team-mates, his coaches, and all of the Shelbyville community fans. Adam, you worked hard, and you are so deserving...
~Nancy ~ 52/365 “The ultimate goal of farming is not the growing of crops, but the cultivation and perfection of human beings.” Last night we stayed with Shannon as we travel back and forth to the University of Illinois to watch the IHSA State Wrestling Tournament. We pulled off long enough to capture a picture of this beautiful old barn that has survived a lifetime on the flat Douglas County prairie.
~Nancy ~ 51/365 "I hated every minute of training, but I said, IHSA State Wrestling TournamentThe Shelbyville Rams 2015 State Qualifiers: Garrett Brachbill-138 Jared Finley-145 Wyatt Fox-152 Adam Hudson-160 Lucas Duckett-182 Caleb Cloe-195 Dylan Turner-285 Adam Hudson wins to continue on tomorrow. Wyatt Fox wins to continue on tomorrow. Jared Finley wins to continue on tomorrow. Jared has been sick all week, so yes, we were very excited when he won!
My friend, Jessica, was VERY excited! It has been a great season! ~Nancy ~50/365 "If you live a life like the rest of the military brats out there, where is home? That attic grows more empty every day.
I delivered the German China coffee service that belonged to my grandmother, Oma, to Shannon today. It's been stored under the eaves waiting for her to own a home where she will have room to keep it. It was still wrapped, each piece, in newspaper, and stored in old packing boxes left over from one of what seems like hundreds of moves growing up. Now she has her home, she has the room, and I'm waiting for an invitation for "Kaffee und Kuchen". ~Nancy ~ 49/365 |
