"If you live a life like the rest of the military brats out there, where is home?
Home is where your family is, home is where your friends are, home is where your heart is.
It can be in one place for most people but for us brats, it is in many places.
It is where we left our friends, it is where we left our grandparents, aunts, uncles, counsins."

That attic grows more empty every day.
I delivered the German China coffee service that belonged to my grandmother, Oma, to Shannon today.
It's been stored under the eaves waiting for her to own a home where she will have room to keep it.
It was still wrapped, each piece, in newspaper, and stored in old packing boxes left over from one of what seems like hundreds of moves growing up. Now she has her home, she has the room, and I'm waiting for an invitation for "Kaffee und Kuchen".
