“They like their roots in the shade and their heads in the sun.” I was worried that our hard winter had been too much for my Clematis vines.
They were late breaking dormancy, and I thought that after more than ten years, they had been beat my "Old Man Winter". They didn't let me down, though, and my spring blooming vines are as beautiful as ever... ~Nancy ~ 160.365 I would have missed this fawn if Tom had not spotted it for me and quietly directed my attention to it.
This was as close as I could get before it finally had enough and bolted. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this baby on our walks... ~Nancy ~ 159/365 We left early for La Salle-Peru to watch the Metamora Redbirds compete for the Sectional Championship title. It was an exciting game that began with an inside-the-park homerun. The Redbirds won and will play Tuesday night in the super sectional game. This is Caleb after he hit one hard. A great group of athletes did a fantastic job! In this picture, the boys are just finding their "good luck" positions.
They had to make sure they were all in the same place they were for their Regional Championship picture. Lots of rituals to make sure everything is just right for a win... ~Nancy ~ 158/365 On our drive to Quincy where we presented today, Shannon stopped so I could grab a shot of this marker. We need to travel to the Fiji Islands next to go another 90°. Maybe this "marker" needs to go on my bucket list... ~Nancy ~ 157/365
Ron Ghere and I have known and worked with Terry Clotfelter for years and years.
Terry has purchased a limousine service, and he asked us to photograph his cars for his new website. What a great evening riding around in a limo with the Governor of Indiana and Terry, our "chauffer"! Thanks, Terry! We highly recommend you give him a call at 217.258.5466 or visit his website: nelsonlimo.net ~Nancy ~ 156/365 "Still, he thought. Still. As his stomach moved toward his backbone he became less and less fussy. Some natives in the world ate grasshoppers and ants and if they could do that he could get a raw egg down. Her hole was dug deeply, but I found no eggs. The sun was beginning to set on the trail, and she was very quiet without any hissing or signs of aggression. I think she just wanted to rest before she began laying her eggs. I will check back in the morning to see if she finished her "work". ~Nancy ~ 155/365
"Found a little patched-up inn in the village of Bulson… The potato blooms close up in the evening.
Taken at dusk, the breeze settled down enough for me to make this shot in dim light. Love fresh grown potatoes. It must be the German in me... ~Nancy ~ 153/365 Bear with me. This story will take a bit of time... “He is well satisfied with his accommodation, So, I'm updating my daily "Free Apps" posts on our "Recess Facebook Page", and I notice someone's post of a random picture of a house traveling down a road pulled by a truck. The description was only two words: "Tiny house". I was hooked. So I Googled "Tiny house" and was led to a blog. I read a little about their journey and their project, and continued on to other links, other tiny houses, other blogs, and all things "tiny". Then when Taylor was home for a few days, I asked her if she had heard of these "tiny houses", and explained that I was obsessed with the idea of "living small". "Grandma! Have you been to Dad's house lately? I think there is one right up the street! Joel told me about it! They're from California! Come on! Let's go and see if it's still there!" "Taylor, is it sort of brownish-red? It sounds like the one I have been reading about!" And "go" we did! And yes, it was still there! And even more amazing, yes, it was the tiny house I had read about! We walked down to see it for ourselves and to meet Guillaume, Jenna, and their sweet Australian Shepherd, Salies. As I explained to them how I knew about them, Guillaume mentioned several times what a small world it is. Jenna is a Shelbyville girl who left "The Ville" to follow a dream, and now she has returned with Guillaume and Salies to finish building their home. It is all part of their "Giant Journey". A tiny house, a giant journey, and a very small world... Love the "dormers"... ...and the skylight! When you visit their blog, you will find out that the siding is from an old barn in Wisconsin. Well, read it here for yourself! And that door! More light. Perfect! And there you have it. Again, perfect! Jenna, Guillaume, and Salies~ Thank you so much for letting us tour your home! We loved meeting you, and look forward to following you on your "most excellent adventure"! ~Nancy ~ 152/2014 Please visit their website by clicking on the picture above!
