A comfortable chair under a shade tree.
The camera and a tripod. A cool drink with ice. A perfect late summer afternoon with plenty of entertainment... ~Nancy ~ 241/365 "What a great day for football. All we need is some green grass and a ball." Final Score:
Shelbyville Rams - 47 Pawnee Indians - 12 ~Nancy ~ 240/365 “A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words.” Mom and I spent a lot of time looking through old photographs while I recorded her sharing moments and memories. One of my favorite pictures of Mom is the one where she is wearing the flower in her hair.
She is the only one who seems willing to sit for the photographer... ~Nancy ~ 239/365 Diana and Mike live on the very edge of the city limits.
Just across the street you see nothing but farmland and this old barn. During the holiday season in past years, the owner has hung a huge wreath on its side. I hope to return soon again during the Holidays to snap a picture. It might make the cover of my sister's future Christmas card. (She's that kind of fan of my pictures...) :-) <3 ~Nancy ~ 238/365 "By gathering seed from trees which are close to our homes and close to our hearts, Mom asked me today about the tree that has seeds that float down and the kids would stick them to their noses.
I knew it had to be a maple tree seed, and on my walk later that day, found a tree next door covered with just such little "helicopters". I brought one in to show her, and she confirmed that this is the seed she was asking about. The little things that children do in nature are passed on from generation to generation. Make sure your children know what to do with these little seeds. ~Nancy ~ 237/365 "My childhood home backed onto wheat and cotton fields." Just across the street is the edge of the Hillsboro city limits.
From there, nothing but farmland stretches until the distant mountains. Instead of miles and miles of corn and soybeans, the variety of crops is endless in Oregon. ~Nancy ~ 235/365 "Let us not forget that the cultivation of the earth is the most important labor of man. This morning, Mike and I went to the Hillsboro Farmers' Market.
Lots of free samples, music, and the most beautiful fresh produce you have ever seen. It's Oregon, Folks... ~Nancy ~ 234/365 The Pink Martini Concert was all I had hoped for.
We traveled to the zoo and the outdoor venue on the TriMet to avoid the traffic and the parking. After the concert, we slowly filed out following thousands of fans to the TriMet station. It didn't take long standing on the platform for our "ride" to arrive. It was a perfect late night ride back to Hillsboro with my family and the international sounds of Pink Martini in my heart... ~Nancy ~ 233/365 Baked in parchment with asparagus and shiitake mushrooms in white wine with lemon.
Mmmmm-mmm good! Thank you, Mike Daggett, for a perfect birthday dinner. ~Nancy ~ 333/365 |
