Washington Walkabout

Sun, warmer temperatures, and plenty of time to walk and talk.
Diana and I left right after breakfast to trek from the hotel to the Jefferson Memorial.
It was one of the few monuments that I had never visited.
Washington is getting ready for spring.
The cherry blossoms are budding out, and the flower beds are dug and waiting for flowers.
"Walking is the best possible  exercise.
Habituate yourself to walk very far."
 ~~Thomas  Jefferson
And far we did.
Seven miles.
Oh, yea...
We stopped at the Willard Hotel and visited the lobby.
The legend is that President Grant would visit the hotel for brandy and cigars where he would be met with "lobbyists" who would try to talk with him about their "interests". The following article makes the case that this is a myth, but the lobby was a sweet pause in our walk.

Read the "myth buster"
here.
