eating "fast-food",
arriving after sunset,
and checking into a "chain-motel",
this is the best I could do.
This little landscaping shrub appears to think autumn is just around the corner...

We had our first visit to Catlin Township High School today to present a technology workshop.
We were surprised to find the school housed in this beautiful old building. It was a dreary, rainy day, but inside custodians were busy cleaning and getting ready for the fast-approaching first day of school. For more pictures of the school, I invite you to visit the "Old School Page"... ~Nancy ~ 210/365 A cool evening on the deck of a houseboat requires several pots of flaming citronella.
The occasional sound of fish splashing in the water, geese, cranes, and the water lapping against the side of the boat was much better than a buzzing in my ear... ~Nancy ~ 209/365 Spent time at the cabin this evening,

and this is one of my favorite pictures of flowers in the natural morning light. I loved the morning and the activity that filled it as so many worked together to make this a perfect day to be wed... ~Nancy ~ 207/365 "Think what a better world it would be if we all, And today was just that kind of day...
~Nancy ~ 206/365 Summer food is colorful.
And what better way to start out the day than with a red, white, and blue breakfast... ~Nancy ~ 205/365 I overheard someone say that people would pay a lot to live where they could have days like today.
It was perfect. Cool, no humidity, blue skies, slight breeze, and a sunny, sunny day. ~Nancy ~ 204/365 My son suggested that I look at the stairs in our county courthouse.
It had been a long time since I had been inside, even before the days of scanning and searches. I was happy to see a familiar face behind the desk, and was given permission to photograph the inside of our courthouse. "After all, it is a historic building..." was what he decided. The courthouse was built in 1880, and is still the pride of Shelby County... Nancy ~ 203/365 Yesterday we spent the day in Chicago for some early birthday presents.
The Chicago Art Institute was on our list of "Must-Do's" and Chagall's American Windows was this trip's "winner" for me. Every time I visit the Art Institute, I am struck by something new that catches my eye and touches my heart. The colors in this piece are truly captivating... ~Nancy ~202/365 |
