This was my view from the balcony when I woke up...
...and later that morning, we traveled to St. Simon Island to climb all 129 steps to the viewing platform of this working lighthouse.
The view was amazing, and the best part was when a ship passed by and with three blasts from the ship's horn, we witnessed the traditional maritime salute every ship gives to working lighthouses as they pass by.
