"God help us if we ever take the theater out of the auction business or anything else.
It would be an awfully boring world."
~~A. Alfred Taubman
Today we traveled to the Pettyjohn Homestead for one of their auctions.
It was raining.
Again.
But it did not hold back the crowds, nor their enthusiasm.
I loved the atmosphere, and watched the bids go up for the original artwork of Robert Root,
a Shelbyville artist (1863–1937).
I had my eye on a set of colored Pyrex bowls like my mother once had,
but today it was not to be.
Next time...
